Introducing Amadeus
Announcing Amadeus, an homage to the large wall sconces first introduced a century ago to illuminate the facades of cities across the U.S. Amadeus provides specifiers with an elegant accent that works across a wide range of building aesthetics.
Where did the name Amadeus come from?
Yes, there is a story behind the name of every Alva fixture...
The designer of this wall sconce just happens to be a classical music aficionado. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart ranks number 2 in the top 10 classical music composers according to historylists.org.
Ambient light vs focused (directed light)
Our outdoor sconces fall into 2 categories:
1. Focused and/or directed light. A perfect example would be Tex. Tex appears as a clean modern form, merely throws light upon the building surface to graze the texture. Architects spend hours choosing the correct material to finish on buildings. Tex illuminates this material; makes it glow at night.
Amadeus is an ambient light source. Ambient was our goal in this design.
Specifiers are asking for bright ambient light sources on the exterior of their buildings. Ambient fixtures create a sense of security, a level of safety. We all want to feel safe. Having multiple ambient light sources surrounding a building truly helps.
Product Specifications:
Dimensions: 47.25” length, 8.8” width in the center, tapering to 6” at the ends.
It measures 3.89” depth, and is fully ADA compliant.
The fixture produces 1000 lumens.
The aluminum detail can be ordered in a myriad of color choices. The acrylic is a white opal.
We’re eager to see where specifiers use it. Our initial thoughts include flanking a building entry, displayed on columns, or filling up an empty vast wall - turning that empty façade into pure art.
